Instead of staying indoors and waiting for the flood to subside, a man from the Philippines decided to have a little bit of fun. With his gear and a camera in tow, he went surfing in a flooded street in Iriga City, Camarines Sur.
According to a GMA News report, the stunt was performed by a certain Eugene Saysay. In his video, he can be seen riding the 'waves' while being towed by a pickup truck. After the stunt, the whole team - pickup driver and the surfer included, go for some warm soup at a local storefront.
Wakeboarding is a surface watersport where an individual on a board is towed by a motorboat as he rides the 'wake' of the water. It is slightly similar to surfing, the sole difference being the towing aspect.
His stunt was recorded whilst the Philippines was being lashed by a tropical depression which caused rains and floods around the country. According to GMA News, Saysay's wakeboarding clip has already garnered over 80,000 views on Facebook. It has also been uploaded on YouTube.
