UAE-Pakistan art and fashion show on Sept 24

DUBAI — An event aimed at building goodwill and friendship through art, culture and fashion between Pakistan and the UAE will be held in Dubai on September 24.

The event, “The Art of Friendship”, is a collaboration of Emirati and Pakistani artists and fashion designers is being organised by Pakistan’s ambassador at large Javed Malik.

“Through this event we pay tribute to the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and the UAE and add another dimension to the creative dialogue between talented individuals from both countries,” said Malik.

“This event aims to recognise the wealth of talent present in Pakistan and the UAE. We plan to continue activities that showcase the workd of talented Emirati and Pakistani artists, and highlight and recognise their achievements,” he said.

The art exhibition will feature noted Emirati artists associated with the Art House, Tashkeel including Hamdan Al Shamsi, Maitha Demitian and Mattar bin Lahej. Pakistani artists associated with Villano Arts including Salman Farooqi, Rabia Dawood, Mehboob Ali, Akbar Ali and Saqiba Haq will also participate in the event.

Similarly, a collaboration between fashion designers in the UAE and Pakistan will showcase traditional and cultural dresses from both the countries. Leading UAE fashion designer Shaikha Hend Al Qassimi and celebrated Pakistani Designer Hassan Shehryar Yasin will feature their latest collections.

“We greatly appreciate the work that has been done by the UAE Red Crescent for the Pakistan flood relief efforts and have invited them to be present on the occasion,” said Malik.

A book featuring distinguished Pakistanis living in the UAE will be released during the function.
