Training for lab supervisors

LIFE skills teachers need to be adequately trained before they are appointed as lab supervisors. These teachers can't be made lab supervisors overnight unless they are trained and rehabilitated well in order to deal with chemicals and technical devices.

School labs contain chemical liquids and devices which need careful handling by technicians. Consequently, if the teachers are not trained well to use such apparatus and be aware of the safety requirements, this can lead to disaster and entail great hazards for the students and lab staff. Moreover, the school may lose some costly appliances. If there is an insistence to transfer these teachers to labs, they should first be exposed to some training and rehabilitation and pass the required fitness tests.
