Toddler drowns near Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah

Sharjah - The incident took place when the child, identified as A.S., was travelling with his family in a tourist boat and fell in the water.

A two-and-a-half-year-old Indian boy died on Tuesday after drowning in Khalid lagoon near Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah.

According to the police, the incident happened when the child, identified as A.S., was with his family near the Al Majaz waterfront. He walked away towards a boat, found the boat open and went inside, where he fell into the water.

Noticing that the boy was missing, the family frantically started searching for him, when they found his body floating in the water.
The police was immediately notified and dispatched a rescue team, which recovered the body from the water and transferred it to the morgue of Al Qassimi Hospital.

Police officials at Al Buhairah Police Station launched investigation on the case.
