Apple Inc has written a new chapter in its books as it has announced a cheaper, more colourful entry-level iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.

The iphone 5S-Gold and iphone 5C should be out in the UAe by november or December.

Local retailers have suggested that the two phones should be out in UAE markets by late November or early December. Most of the respondents Khaleej Times caught up with said they cannot wait to get their hands on the iPhone 5S-Gold. iPhone fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the phone in the UAE. Retailers have suggested that the iPhone 5C might be hugely popular with the UAE youth. Ashish Panjabi, chief operating officer for the UAE’s Jacky’s Electronics, said: “If you look at Apple’s trend, the iPhone 4S official launch date in the UAE was December 13. We are expecting the two new phones to be out by mid-November. The phones should be hugely popular here.”

“The official pricing information is not out yet, but we know it will be pretty much at par with the US prices ranging $199 to $549.”

“Christmas has officially come early. I can’t wait to get my handson the phone,” said Nivin D’Cruz, a resident of Dubai and an owner of iPhone 4S.

“I was looking for an update from the 4S anyway. I would definitely get myself the 5S,” he added.

Apple announced its latest addition to the family to spike demand of iPhones in developing countries. The smartphone market in countries like China, India and Brazil always have a demand for iPhone but previous iPhone models were simply too expensive to increase the sales for Apple in these countries.

“The 5C will be hugely popular with youngsters because of its availability in various hues. We are looking at a target market of university students. The gold model is also expected to be hugely popular among the people here, mainly because gold is a very fashionable colour in this part of the world,” added Panjabi.

“Dubai’s leading electronics stores, such as Sharaf DG, Jumbo Electronics and Eros Digital Home, retail on Tejuri.com and we will be providing a convenient and secure point of purchase for our shoppers. On Tejuri.com, shoppers will be able to compare prices among various retailers and get the best possible deal on the iPhone 5S and 5C. As we implement a double warranty — a store warranty and a warranty by the online mall — our shoppers are assured of a safe and speedy transaction on one of the year’s most anticipated products,” said Ayaz Maqbool, managing director of Tejuri.com.

Resident Shawn Stephens said: “I would try and pick up the gold iPhone 5S. It looks very fashionable.”

The entry-level “iPhone 5C” comes in five hues — blue, green, pink, yellow and white — and starts in the United States at $99 with a contract, or $549 without, signalling prices that may disappoint those hoping for an aggressive assault on China and India. Apple has been losing ground to Samsung and Huawei in those countries, reported Reuters.
