Your worries may be short-lived as Abu Dhabi Social Services and Commercial Buildings (DSS&CB) has launched a web site that will provide easy access to people who are currently running between pillars to post in search of a suitable accommodation.

The web site was launched at a ceremony which was attended by Chairman DSS&CB Khalfan bin Ghaith Al Mehairbi, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Badi, Chairman of iCapital, besides senior officials of the department.

The web site www.ejarat.ae has been created by iCapital, a local company. It could be termed as online gateway to the real-estate market of Abu Dhabi.

The web site has removed all communication barriers between the department and the general public, as people can communicate with the officials by just browsing through it.

The department owns and runs over 500 buildings makes and makes an important contribution to the life of the residents of the city.

The web site intends to enhance interaction between tenants, owners of the property, people searching for apartments, contractors and maintenance companies besides other stakeholders.

If a tenant wants to complain about utilities services he is subscribing or requires any maintenance in his apartment, there is no need to visit the department's six offices across the city.

One can just log in and lodge the complaint. The landlords can also easily communicate to the officials and get matters resolved instead of wasting their time and energy by visiting the offices.

The web site has incorporated all the data relating to the properties managed by the department. It is part of the Abu Dhabi government's efforts to respond to the needs of the people.

The hunt for property is a nightmare in the capital as the gap between vacant housing units and people desiring suitable accommodation is widening every day.

The situation is so difficult that people looking for a place in Khalifa Committee Housing have to queue up daily to search for vacant apartments from its computer system.

Following registration with the web site, hunting services will automatically send the patron a notification when a property of your choice becomes available.
