President, Queen reiterate strong, historic relations

ABU DHABI - President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan met today at Al Mushrif Palace with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who is currently visiting the UAE.

Shaikh Khalifa welcomed Queen Elizabeth and said that Her Majesty and Prince Philip’s visit to the UAE would further enhance historic relations between the UAE and the UK.

Shaikh Khalifa expressed appreciation to the role played by Queen Elizabeth in strengthening bonds of friendship between the two countries. He added that the UAE was looking forward to further cooperation with the UK in all fields.

He also aid that the UAE was honoured with the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. He wished her good health and further progress and prosperity to the UK.

Shaikh Khalifa held talks with Queen Elizabeth and her accompanying delegation that touched on ties of friendship between the two countries.

Queen Elizabeth said she was honoured to visit the UAE and praised the achievements made by the country, thanks to the vision of its leadership.

She expressed the hope that the UAE will make further progress under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two sides said they were satisfied with the outcome of Queen Elizabeth visit and stressed the need for continuous talks between the two countries’ leaderships to achieve total partnership at all levels.

Shaikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon in honour of Queen Elizabeth and her accompanying delegation.
