Talking to Khaleej Times, Al Janiby said the municipality had signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Police in this regard. This, he said, was done to ensure that motorists resist from indulging in violations such as throwing garbage or cigarette butts from car windows.

The municipality also imposes fines for washing cars on the road side and streets.

The official further added that the City Landscape Department of the Municipality and Community Police Department had signed an agreement to work together to remove any encroachments on public facilities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He said the Community Police was playing a vital role to ensure discipline by motorists.
