The 31-year-old Egyptian is accused of molesting the Filipina in the lift of a building in Muraqqabat area luring her into meeting him with the offer of a job.

The 34-year-old woman stated that around 8.45 am on May 8 this year, she received a missed call on her mobile phone from an unknown number. When she called the number, a man (the defendant) answered and told her that there was a job vacancy in a coffee shop in Muraqqabat area of Deira. He told her that her friend had given him her number.

Later, she met him at Hamarian Centre and from there they walked for more than 35 minutes. When they reached a building on Rigga Street, the man dragged her into the lift and molested her as she failed to resist him, she said. Later, she sought the help of the security guards who called the police.

The defendant is also accused in another molestation case. According to that case, he allegedly molested a six-year-old Indian schoolgirl inside the lift of the building in which she lives with her family.
