The department has already started putting up barricades in the area (in front of the Burj Al Arab), they added. “The barricading will have gates in between and guards will be around checking people,” said an official.
“Everyday there are a lot of people coming down to the beach. While most of them are youths, there are many families too. We don’t want families to get into any kind of problems with the others. So we have decided to dedicate a part of the beach for them The project will take some time to get completed as the open beach covers a big area,” said Mohammed Abed, the supervisor looking after the construction work at the Jumeirah beach. “We are also planning to beautify the beach.”
“There have been some instances where the families have complained about problerms they face with the others. This part will be completely covered up and guards would keep an eye on it. This part will be closed down after night fall. We are yet to decide upon the time of closure. The families can come here and have a quiet time. The others parts of the beach would be open for everyone in general,” added another official.
