Paid parking system in Ajman soon

AJMAN — Ajman will shortly have a paid parking system, a senior official has said. Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Planning (ADMP), said yesterday that the paid parking system would be introduced on the main roads like Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Road and Shaikh Khalifa Road and the Corniche.

The official disclosed this while touring the ongoing development projects in Ajman.

Al Nuaimi said the move was part of Ajman municipality's efforts at reducing traffic congestion in the main areas hit by traffic bottlenecks due to improper parking. He did not give any specific date for the implementation of the paid parking system.

The official said the ADMP was currently studying the proposal, which was likely to become effective any time in the next three months.
