One killed, another injured in two road accidents

RAS AL KHAIMAH — One man died and another sustained serious injuries in two separate traffic accidents that took place here over the last two days.

A 36-year-old Bangladeshi cyclist, Mohammed Noor Alam, died on the spot when a car rammed into him on the Al Remes Street on Thursday.

In the second accident, a 25-year-old Mohammed Bilal Hussein, another Bangladeshi, sustained serious injuries and fractures in a hit-and-run accident that took place yesterday on the same road. The two victims were brought to the Emergency Department of the Saqer Hospital where the first one was officially pronounced dead. The second one underwent a surgical operation to save his life and was then admitted to the orthopaedic ward for further treatment. His case was said to be stable.
