The authority denied a report published yesterday by an Arabic daily that reported Dh1 increase in the price of Zulal five gallon which is being sold for Dh5.

SEWA Director-General Al Waleed bin Khadem told Khaleej Times that prices of Zulal water has not been increased, nor is there any plan to do so.

He added that His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah had ordered the setting up of the factory in 1995, with the objective of protecting public health.

“SEWA is making great efforts to provide public with high quality standard of drinking water through its factory by using advanced technique and applying the international standards and specifications of healthy drinking water set up by the World Health Organisation (WHO),” he added.

Eng. Bin Khadem pointed out that Zulal factory is preparing to achieve its goal of ensuring distinctive services in terms of drinking water provision after it moves to its new location in Al Hamdah district before the end of this year.
