Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brig. Arif Al Shamsi, Director of Sharjah Traffic Department, said the heavy trucks can ply from 6.30am to 8.30am and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
He said the decision was taken with a view to facilitating traffic flow and allow employees and students to reach their destinations in time during the month. Brig.
Al Shamsi said circulars had been sent to all companies and departments about the new timings.
The Traffic Department will also install signboards on highways, denoting the timings for heavy trucks. The normal timings for heavy trucks will be reverted back on the day of Eid, he said.
