According to the prosecution, M.K. cheated a 38-year-old Indonesian woman whom he had told that she would work as a nanny for Dh1,000 a month.
He had bought her from a Sri Lankan national for Dh2,000 and locked her up in a house in Jumeirah.
The woman, in her testimony, stated that she entered the UAE in November 2006.
She worked as a housemaid for a sponsor for a few weeks before absconding as the employer used to force her to work even when she was sick. Later, she found a job at another household, but after a short while abandoned that as well.
Thereafter, she came in touch with a Sri Lankan man who offered her the job of nanny for Dh1,000 a month.
When she met the Sri Lankan at a bus stop, the latter introduced her to M.K. saying that she would work for him.
Later M.K. told her she would work as a prostitute and locked her up in a house in Jumeirah.
He threatened her that she would face problems if she tried to escape as his contacts were present all over Dubai. A police officer, who took part in the raid on the brothel run by M.K. in Al Bidaa, said that two Pakistanis were found there. They admitted having sex with the woman for Dh50 each.
