Lecture on Arab economies

SHARJAH - Around 50 American University of Sharjah students attended a lecture on `The Arab Economies and the New World Order, Emphasis on the AGCC' by Dr Ibrahim Akoum, Director, Office of the Director General at the Arab Monetary Fund, on Saturday.

Dr Akoum has had a wealth of experience in macroeconomic policy analysis and in academia over the past 20 years. He worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C. and at the Ministry of National Economy and the Capital Market Authority in Oman. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy and a Master's degree in Policy Analysis from the University of Texas and a Master's in Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of Dallas, US.

The lecture was followed by a luncheon hosted by Chancellor Dr Winfred Thompson and attended by the Dean of the School of Business and Management, along with faculty of the departments of International Studies and Economics.
