The two organisations have agreed to collaborate their efforts towards hosting of Global Medical Forum in the UAE for the benefit of the region, providing training, consultancy and applied research services in the areas of health care, medical innovation and technology for all segments of the regional market and effective technology transfer through participation of the nationals in various stages of the project implementation and training. Upon signing the MoU, Shaikh Nahyan said that health and education are two pillars of a modern society and growth engines of national economy and the increasing population requires a proportional increase in health care facilities and hence an increasing need to develop qualified and skilled national human resource to service this strategic sector.

"We at HCT-CERT are pleased to launch several new initiatives to help our country meet the human resource challenges in the strategically important health care sector. Through our association with the Global Medical Forum, we will enhance our efforts to provide world-class training and professional development to health care professionals of the UAE and the region," said Shaikh Nahayan. He also added that he is looking forward to meet with the leading international health care experts at the UAE Global Medical Forum, which will be organised early next year.

Expressing his profound happiness to see CERT and GMF share common values and goals to improve the health care services in the region, Prof. Levey remarked that through technology transfer, GMF will help CERT in their mission to train young nationals to be professionally equipped in the expanding health care industry in the region.

Dr. Tayeb Kamali, CEO of CERT added that they are in the process of setting up a Centre of Excellence for Training in Health Services at CERT's Technological Park. "The Global Medical Forum will bring top health care leaders, strategists and specialists from all over the world to brainstorm with our regional leaders to help us chart new strategies for the region to meet the challenges in the sector."
