According to the police's newly-created artificial intelligence department, residents can use the feature by tapping their iPhones at the police service centres and smart police stations.
"The credit card payment machines at the police service centres have been upgraded to support Apple Pay," said Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, director of the department.
He said the police are keen to be on smart platforms and "enhance their approach in the field of smart services to bring happiness to customers". The police's smart services push is in line with Dubai's aim to be the smartest city in the world, he added.
