Japanese PM greets UAE leaders, people
TOKYO — Japan’s Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has sent greetings to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and to the government and people of the UAE on its 36th National Day.
In a letter published yesterday by the Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan’s largest circulated newspapers, Fukuda said that relations between the UAE and Japan were witnessing significant progress, thanks to the increasing oil imports from the UAE, the growing number of Japanese companies operating in the UAE and the air-link between the two countries, serviced by 14 flights a week by different carriers.
