A Mumbai beggar, who died in an accident, had managed to save over Rs1 million (Dh51,000 approx) including coins worth Rs0.15 million - adding up to approximately Dh59,600.
It took police nearly eight hours to count the coins which they found at the beggar's dingy one-room house in a Mumbai slum. They also found documents for fixed deposits worth Rs 8.77 lakh in the beggar's house along with a PAN card, Voter-identity card and Aadhaar card, reported NDTV.

According to reports, the room was littered with old newspapers and polythene bags when policemen walked into the beggar's house to probe his death.
Police said that they will contact respective banks to keep the deceased beggar identified as Birju Chandra Azad's fixed deposits safe. While they coins are with police for safekeeping.
It is reported that no relative or family member of the deceased beggar has yet been traced.
