Civil Defense teams controlled a fire that broke out in the workers' accommodation area on Saadiyat Island in the UAE Capital. No injuries or casualties have been reported.
The accommodation housing belonged to a company operating on Saadiyad Island.
Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi, said the fire was reported at 2:10pm on Wednesday.
Civil Defense teams were immediately dispatched, headed by the teams from Yas and Mina Street, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police patrols.
The teams controlled the fire and secured the area.
Colonel Al Ansari confirmed that the fire is classified as an average, adding that investigations are still under way to find out the cause of the fire.
The Director General of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi also urged owners of real estate companies and developers to take precautionary measures, follow safety and general protection requirements and ensure the training and safety of fire prevention is met.
