The Ajman Civil Defence with help from their counterparts in Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain, managed to put out the fire after two hours of struggle. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brig. Adil Saif Al Matroushi, Deputy Director of Ajman Civil Defence Department, said the factory carries out production of three products — aluminium, glass and gypsum.

The fire apparently originated in the warehouse which accommodates barrels of diesel and other fuel used in manufacturing of the items, he said.

Brig Adil Al Zari of Ajman Civil Defence said the factory was not complying with the prescribed safety rules.
