The fatwa was issued following an announcement by DAMP regarding holding the month-long community fair from June 15 at Eid Al Mussala ground to promote local talent and highlighting the role of women in family welfare. Following the fatwa, DAMP moved the event to Ajman Corniche. A cleric from the Auqaf office told Khaleej Times that the Mussala should be treated as mosque. The mosque and mussala should be kept clean and well-maintained.

“Organising of such a festival at the prayer ground is contradictory to our Islamic teachings and it will desecrate the place,” he stressed.
