EHS, the Environment, Health and Safety department of the Ports Customs and Free Zone, has reported a strong response from government, semi-government and private sector companies in the award.
The award, being held for the second consecutive year, aims to encourage companies and individuals to improve environment, health and safety practices and awareness.
The EHS Award is divided into nine categories and encourages solutions concerning the environment, construction safety, the application of safe practices during work, food and health, safety and preservation of marine environment, firefighting, Media- Outstanding Environmental Publication Award category, green building category, and Dubai World Business Unit and Government Department Award in the field of sustainable development.
The final date for receiving applications for the ‘EHS Award 2008' is October 15, 2008. The applications can be sent at www.ehss.ae.
