The third season of World Art Dubai, which offers art that is affordable, opened to the public on Wednesday. The event - which runs until April 15 - features a collection of over 3,000 paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs, starting at the affordable price of $100.
The event is deliberately price-conscious to ensure it remains accessible and affordable to everyone, from first-time art buyers to seasoned connoisseurs.
Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director-General of Dubai's Department of Information, officially opened the event.
Over 35 international galleries represent 120 established artists and relative newcomers, with dedicated pavilions representing Europe, Japan, Ukraine and the United States. The event also hosts an area dedicated to artists from, or with their roots, in the Middle East.
Other features of the fair include calligraphy sessions and The Art Of... workshops, headlined by The Art Of ... Make-up with Lancôme, while The Ripe Craft Market is open daily on Friday and Saturday with dozens of local exhibitors displaying everything from kitsch lifestyle gifts, arts, crafts and furniture to unique fashion and jewellery finds.
