Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the Ajman Urban Planning Conference, Majid Al Shamari, Executive Director of White Lake Consortium Group said his company has an agreement with Ajman Government to carry out the airport development.

The proposed airport site is located in the Al Manama region, approximately 60km from Ajman City with the main road to Manama linking Fujairah on the east coast and Sharjah on the west coast.

The key activities planned for the airport include international passenger scheduled services, fast turnaround and specialised freight services, general and cooperative aviation services as well as maintenance and support services.

Al Shamari said the initial investment is Dh1 billion for a runway in excess of 3200 metres, passenger terminal facilities, cargo facilities and general aviation facilities as well as hangars and storage.

The Ajman airport project is expected to attract a number of UAE and international aviation players such as passenger services, cargo and aviation service providers.

“An Airport City, including residential buildings, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls and centres, will also be established,” he noted.
