Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has offered a government job to the family of auto driver P. Naushad, who died in his bid to save the lives of two cleaning workers from Andhra Pradesh, who died of asphyxiation during a maintenance work in a sewer in Calicut city on Thursday.
He announced the relief after visiting the deceased's wife and mother at their house at Vengeri in the city on Friday. Chandy said that the state government will also extend financial assistance to the family.
The chief minister said that the government will also bear the expenses involved in taking the bodies of the two migrant workers to Amaravathi in AP.
