Car parking relief soon
SHARJAH — Come April, 2006, the beleaguered residents of two thickly populated residential areas in Sharjah can heave a sigh of relief, with the Sharjah Municipality currently working on the construction of a multi-storeyed car parking structure in Al Majaz and Abu Shaghara areas.
Engineer Owais Al Qarani, Head of the Public Parking Section in the civic body, told Khaleej Times that the municipality had started construction of the multi-storeyed building near Al Majaz park, which would provide parking space spread over 30,000 square feet. "The building will comprise seven floors in addition to the ground floor which will be designated for shops. Five floors have been earmarked for car parking," he said.
