Sasa has been attending the Sharjah International Book Fair for the last 16 years as an exhibitor. And she says children love her stall.
Interestingly, Sasa doesn't have even a single book in her stall. For a change, she has puzzles.
Made of tiny wooden carvings, Sasa brings puzzles from China, where she runs a factory, along with her family.
From Burj Al Arab to Eiffel tower and Harley Davidson bikes to BMWs, she has tiny models of all those which can capture your attention.
"These are just like books. They teach children to concentrate and attend to the most minute things. They enjoy it and will have the feel of achievement once they finish it. And all these years, we got good response from children and parents," says Sasa.
Sasa had a shop here in Sharjah, which she closed down two years back because of personal reasons.
"But I still miss the UAE. That's why I come here twice every year. I come for the Sharjah International Book Fair and then for the children's book fair."
On asking how they make so many miniatures, Sasa said: "It's designed by engineers. Once they do the design, we start manufacturing in big quantity."
The wood used for the puzzles is very soft. "Earlier it was available in China. Now, we have to import it from Russia."
As they produce the puzzles in bulk, it doesn't cost much. We have puzzles ranging from Dh5 to Dh50."
Sasa's factory is named Toywins. They also produce paper puzzles, which are available at the SIBF stall.
