Family-owned conglomerate committed to nurturing the development of Emirati workforce
According to sources, Benazir addressed party workers during a function held yesterday to mark her 50th birthday at the residence of PPP worker Choudhary Zafar Iqbal. "The PPP has witnessed many ups and downs, but it has still survived. I invite the younger generation to come forward and pump new life into the party," she said, adding that PPP was still a People's Party.
Also present at the function was PPP General Secretary, Jehangir Badar, who was on his way to Pakistan after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia. On the occasion, Mr Badar announced the launch of his book How to become a leader which he wrote while in jail.
Mr Badar has recently been released on the orders of the Supreme Court. He was arrested on August 22, 2001 on the charges of misusing his official position and was indicted in November.
The book, which describes Benazir's political journey in detail, is scheduled to be released in the first week of July in London and in Dubai some time in August.
