Asian Ajman government staff gets jail term for taking bribe

A 43-year-old Asian expat working with a government department in Ajman was sentenced by the Ajman criminal court to a one-year imprisonment followed by deportation for exploiting his employment and receiving a bribe to complete suspended paperwork.
The accused received Dh4,000 to complete suspended formalities due to a regulatory reason, according to police investigation record.
The police CID received information from a source that the employee was processing uncompleted formalities that do not meet the required condition.
Police arrested the accused, who confessed to the police and public prosecution that a representative from one of the companies approached him at 10 am while he was busy working and asked him to process the formalities. He said he processed and stamped it with government stamp and give it to him.
