After concluding the 12 Consultative Meeting of GCC Interior Ministers, chaired by UAE Interior Minister Lt General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, said Osama’s killing in a pre-dawn combat operation by US forces in Pakistan will push the war against terrorism. “As for combating terrorism, we hope the killing of Osama bin Laden will push forward the efforts made on fighting terror, and will give a boost to the efforts to eliminate all kinds of support and instigation to such acts that run to counter to Islamic values and principles,” a joint statement issued after the conclusion of the meeting on Tuesday at Emirates Palace.

The ministers asserted the Council renounces terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations, whatever its motives and justifications, and whatever its source.
