300 female expats arrested in Oman

Muscat - 240 female expats were arrested for prostitution in March 2018.

Oman has arrested over 300 females expatriates this year for their involvement in various criminal offences.
The women mostly belonged to African and Asian nationalities.
About 104 were arrested for immoral activities, Royal Oman Police (ROP) was quoted saying by Times of Oman.
"There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops (shisha) and congested roads in Al Khuwair district," an official at ROP said.
"We received information about houses, flats, and areas with suspicious activities and so we monitored these locations. Once we had a confirmation, we took action and arrested the women," he further said.
The report added that 240 female expats were arrested for prostitution in March 2018.
"A total of 199 women and 48 men were arrested from Al Khuwair in March 2018."
