Google has introduced the local version of famous video platform YouTube in Pakistan.
This recent development can led to a common ground between our government and Google officials for filtering out the controversial content and let the whole platform stay accessible in Pakistan.
According to media reports, YouTube's local version has been accessible in many countries with some times translations in native languages too. YouTube's local version will also present country specific popular content on home page. So, whatever the most watched content may be, it will surface on top for other viewers to watch it too.
Officials have been in talks with Google for several years to bring about a localised version of YouTube for users accessing the website in Pakistan.

The video-sharing website has been blocked in Pakistan since September 2012 over its hosting of a movie that sparked furious protests around the world.
Free speech campaigners in Pakistan have long complained of creeping censorship in the name of protecting religion or preventing obscenity.
In November 2011 the telecommunications authority tried to ban nearly 1,700 "obscene" words from text messages, which included innocuous terms such as "lotion", "athlete's foot" and "idiot".
