- Holy Cow! (@HolyCow_Inc) August 20, 2020To reflect this, social media has been awash with celebrities and ordinary folk sharing their favourite dog photos and videos today.
Legendary British composer, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, celebrated International Dog Day in typically creative fashion with his pooch Mojito.
He filmed himself teaching Mojito his favourite party trick - singing the 'How Much is that Doggy in the Window?' backwards.
Also celebrating was Indian actor Pulkit Samrat, who took to Instagram this morning to post an adorable picture of his pet husky Drogo - who has also been known to gatecrash his dates with girlfriend and actress Kriti Kharbanda.
Another Indian actor, Anushka Sharma, also shared a charming video of her dog on Instagram.
In the footage, one can see Sharma's pet fighting with the bags and later the pet goes running to the actor trying to get hold of her hand.
Along with the video, Anushka also wrote, "Dogs- easily distracted from combat with a bag when they hear the call of love. So much to learn from them. #InternationalDogDay".
