Oman government has extended by six months the temporary ban on the issuing of new visas to certain job categories in the private sector, a ministerial decision issued by Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri has said.
According to the Times of Oman, the decision states that several professions will have a prolonged visa ban.
"Cleaners, camel breeders, sales and construction workers will not get a visa for another six months coming into effect from December 1, 2016," the ministerial decision said.
"The Ministry of Manpower even has decided not to allow the recruitment of non-Omanis workers in carpentry, aluminium workshops, blacksmith, brick kilns from January 2017."
The regulations, however, doesn't apply to A Grade companies.
