A passenger onboard a Jet Airways flight reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest mid-air, but a 'heroic' crew member helped save his life. The incident came to light after another passenger tweeted a photo of the crew member, identified only as Amandeep, and wrote that he helped resuscitate the ailing passenger and was by his side for over an hour. The photo has since been retweeted thousands of times in two days and the crew member is being hailed as a 'hero' for his efforts.
Amandeep's photo was tweeted by Tanveer Ahmed, a national spokesperson for political party JD(S), who was also on the same plane flying from Bengaluru to Delhi. Ahmed tweeted that Amandeep rushed to help the passenger and worked for 'over an hour' to ensure the passenger survived. "He literally saved his life. To me, Amandeep is a hero," Ahmed tweeted on Thursday.
Jet Airways responded to Ahmed's tweet, saying the company was proud to have Amandeep as part of their crew. Giving details of the incident mid-air, Jet Airways spokesperson told NDTV that Amandeep began administering first aid after the noticing the passenger was unwell.

"Crew took an update of the guest's medical history from a family member accompanying him and administered medication and oxygen as per the laid down procedures," the spokesperson said, adding a nurse who happened to be travelling on the same flight assisted in keeping the passenger's health in a stable condition.
"Captain of the flight requested for priority landing in Delhi and upon landing, Medanta doctors boarded and checked on the guest," the spokesperson added. The passenger is reported to be in better health now.
Post the incident, Amandeep's photo has gone viral with numerous tweets pouring in to praise his efforts during a medical emergency.
