An American Airlines flight flying from Chicago to Dallas was diverted to St. Louis, Missouri, after an unruly passenger tried to open emergency exit door mid-air.
The incident took place on Tuesday, March 3, creating panic among other passengers and the crew had to contact law enforcement. The plane had to make an emergency landing at St. Louis Lambert International Airport where the unruly passenger was escorted out of the plane, reported abc7chicago.com.
In a video taken by another passenger, authorities are seen escorting the handcuffed passenger out of the plane. Confirming the incident, American Airlines spokesperson Gianna Urgo, said, "An American flight from O'Hare made an emergency landing in St. Louis tonight because of an unruly passenger."
