Iam a 13-year-old girl with oily skin on my face, and consequent pimples. I use a face wash, but there is not much improvement in the condition of my skin. Could you suggest a remedy to control my pimples? – Geeta

Make fresh tomato juice with some parsley and lemon juice, and fill an ice tray with the juice. Leave to freeze. Rub one ice cube on your face everyday, preferably at night, on dry skin, and leave it to dry on your skin overnight. Rinse off with cold water the next day. Avoid warm water on your skin completely and add a few drops of lemon juice to your cold-water rinses to improve the overall condition of your skin.

I am an 18-year-old girl with dark circles under my eyes. I have tried using pads soaked in milk and tea bags, but they haven’t worked for me. Could you please suggest a home remedy to reduce them? I also have scars on my face, and my skin is tanned due to the sun. I have tried applying lemon juice for the tan, but to no avail. Is there another home remedy for this? - Mariam

Mix one teaspoon of almond powder and enough fresh coconut milk to make a thick paste. Apply this on your face, including the under eye area, and then dry scrub using circular movements and a little warm water. Rinse your face with a cold water splash. Avoid strong sun exposure and remember to always wear sun protection when going out in the heat.

I am a 25-year-old woman with dry skin and dark patches on my face, on the sides and above my lips. Could you please suggest an effective remedy that will give quicker results? – Khushi

Mix one tablespoon of warm honey and one teaspoon of full cream milk and massage this into your skin. Leave it on for 45 minutes and rinse off with warm water, followed by cold water. You can also apply this on your lips, fingertips and toes.

I am 18 years old and have blackheads and small pimples on my face (and the scars they leave behind). Last year, I used a cream — Trimelasin — on my face for a month, but during summer, my skin got sticky, dull, oilier and rougher. Could you please suggest a remedy for me? – Nimra

Mix half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and enough honey to make paste and apply this on your blackheads and pimples. Scrub the paste off using room temperature water and then gently scrub your skin with a face cloth. Do this three times a week to clear your skin.

I am 20 years old and have very oily skin. Also have a lot of pimples all over my face. Could you suggest a remedy for my pimple troubles and what I can do to lighten my skin? – Nia

Mix one teaspoon of orange juice with one teaspoon of lemon juice and massage this mixture into your skin. Leave this in overnight. You will notice that your skin will brighten, and this will also reduce the oiliness of your skin, helping to clear the pimples.
