Soda bicarbonate + honey + aloe vera = calm skin
I have small-but-painful bumps on my chin. They feel like pimples that haven't erupted. After some time, they go back down without erupting. What should I do to calm the skin or stop these bumps from appearing?
- Anu
Take a quarter teaspoon of soda bicarbonate and add to honey and aloe vera gel. Apply this to your skin. Leave overnight. Rinse off with warm water and follow with a gentle scrub using a soft muslin cloth. If the skin feels sensitive, apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel.
I am a 34-year-old woman. I have been losing hair on the crown of my head. As prescribed by you, I do the routine of mixing 10 drops of rosemary oil in coconut and castor oil once a week. Please can you recommend what I can do to achieve hair growth on the crown of my head?
- Ananya
Hair loss on the crown takes a while to see results. Steam your scalp every alternate day. Massage aloe vera gel into the scalp in the areas where hair is scanty. Allow to dry and then comb hair; it will gain sheen and body. Do this every day, as it is a good treatment for the scalp. Continue the rosemary oil, castor oil and coconut oil treatment once or twice a week.
Lately, I have been reading up on how useful ghee is for hair and skin. Is there any truth in that claim? If yes, please tell me how to use or apply it.
- Sheetal
Pure ghee is nourishing. It is good for smooth and soft skin, and you can apply it to skin every night before retiring to bed. I have never used ghee for my hair though, so I would recommend sticking to almond, coconut or extra virgin olive oil. Even mustard and sesame oil will work well. I only share treatments I've tried and tested, so won't be able to vouch for applying ghee on the hair.
My son has been growing his beard thick but he has a circular patch on one side where no hair grows. Do you have any remedies to make the hair grow evenly?
- Sally
Massage 1 drop of tea tree oil mixed with 1 drop of rosemary oil and 2 drops of castor oil on the bald patch. Leave on overnight. Do this every day. I'm sure you will see an amazing difference. Stimulate the skin on the bald patch by using tapping finger movements. Do this every day too.
