Ready to take on this challenge?
There's no dearth of escape rooms in the region, but here's something you've probably never heard of before. JBR The Walk is all set to welcome TEPfactor, a team-building adventure experience that's sure to be fun. Teams of two-to-six people will have the opportunity to tackle 21 challenges that put their physical and mental skills to the test. With each challenge having a time limit, puzzles and balancing acts, watch and laugh as your team members race against the clock to win. The cave-like venue opens on May 29 and prices start at Dh80 (weekdays per person) and Dh100 (weekends per person). For more information, you can email info@tepfactor.ae.
Stay cool after school
Looking for ways to help your little ones beat the heat? Laguna Waterpark at La Mer is offering the perfect hangout spot for youngsters during Ramadan with its after-school club! Toddlers will be able to enjoy its splash pools while older children can test their surf skills on the WaveOz 180, an attraction offering an invigorating surf experience. The waterpark offers a generous resident rate of Dh99, with children under 2 entering for free with a paying adult. Another reason to visit? Children aged 1-6 get a free ice cream. Everything one needs for family-friendly fun.
Shop till you drop
Created right in time for the travel season is a free new app that allows fashionistas to browse collections from designers abroad and even chat via direct messaging to set up appointments or send enquiries. Fashtory was created as a platform to connect designers of clothes, jewellery, accessories, abayas, footwear with interested buyers, and, therefore, change the way people shop while they travel. So, if you're looking for a favourite local designer, they may be just a swipe away. The app is available on both App Story and Google Play.
For your body, mind and soul
There's a lot of talk about staying healthy and fit during Ramadan - which is exactly why Gold's Gym is hosting an open-day event for all members and non-members, across all their branches in the country. Set to take place on May 27, the special combination classes will include yoga, body balance and pilates in order to ensure relaxation and body flexibility during the Holy Month. The free Mind Your Body event is designed to suit males and females of all ages, and for both beginners and advanced practitioners. Registration is a must, so go to goldsgym.ae/blog/upcoming-ramadan-events to pick your club location and timings.
An iftar that provides food for thought
Searching for some of Dubai's alternate iftars? Look no further than Flow's Neo-Bedouin iftar experience that "celebrates the culinary traditions of nomadic Arabia through a feel-good menu". That means delicious Arab dishes with a wholesome, healthy spin. To make things even better, Flow has also introduced its Ramadan Series - a number of post-iftar discussions with various speakers to inspire and engage diners. May 28 will see social philanthropist and entrepreneur Khalifa Bin Hendi discussing Emirati youth giving back to the community while Emirati spoken word poet Afra Atiq will be performing a recital alongside her talk on May 30.
