The woman in Al Ain accused of killing her ex-lover and cooking him to hide evidence of the crime has denied the murder charge during her hearing at the criminal court of first instance.
The 37-year-old Moroccan seamstress allegedly stabbed her lover of the same nationality, then sawed his corpse into three pieces last November, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
Her lawyer, Khalid bin Jumhoor Al Ahbabi, relates that his client is a married woman whose children live with their father in Morocco. She has been living in UAE for the last 10 years.
She met her lover, a 29-year-old single man, who also worked as a tailor at another clothing shop, seven years ago. He used to live near her home in Oud Tawba.
On the day of the incident, the woman had been hanging out with her lover and his friends at their shared accommodation late one night. Around 3am on November 3, he took her back to her home, as per the statement of the witnesses who saw them leave together from the gathering.
The same day, he called her in the afternoon and asked to have lunch with her. She welcomed him and upon his arrival, he asked her to go with him on a trip to Jebel Hafeet.
According to the lawyer, she refused because she was in the midst of shifting to another flat and asked for his help in moving her furniture.
They ended up fighting over the issue and he insulted her and slapped her face.
He grabbed her hair and yanked down till her head was level with the table. She saw a knife lying on it so she grabbed it and stabbed him in the chest.
Upon seeing the blood, she had a panic attack and had no idea what to do with the body.
She then proceeded to cut his corpse into three pieces and cook it.
After some days passed, his friends submitted a missing persons form.
She was investigated as she was the last person to see him alive. When police searched her apartment, they found evidence in the form of small human remains at the scene of the crime.
The woman confessed voluntarily that she had killed him as a result of a fight between them.
