Scattered thunderstorm and rain of different intensity lashed various parts of the UAE on Saturday, March 21. More rainfall is expected till Wednesday.
Following overnight rain and hail in Abu Dhabi City, Mussafah, suburbs and western region, light to moderate rain was experienced in various parts of the emirate on Saturday morning.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, unstable conditions are expected to continue for next few days with chances of scattered rain across the country.
On the general situation for Saturday and Sunday, the Met office said: "Rain and thunder over scattered areas, at times with fresh to strong winds are expected. A surface low pressure trough extends over the country, accompanied with an upper air trough of low pressure which gradually deepens to reach its peak today and Sunday."
Giving a forecast for next few days, the weatherman said the conditions will be cloudy with rainfall of different intensities over scattered areas of the country, accompanied with lightning and thunder at times.
"Moderate to fresh southeasterly to northeasterly winds may become strong with convective clouds over the sea, causing blowing dust and resulting in poor horizontal visibility over the exposed areas. The sea will be rough to very rough especially with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea."
