The Sharjah Police on Sunday busted a Pakistani gang specialised in forging UAE entry and resident visas and selling them to people outside the country.
The police received a tip-off about the gang's activities and forged a team of CID officers for investigation.
During the investigation, it was found out that the gang members targeted workers in Asian countries and offered them the visas for certain amount of money.
The investigation team identified one person, W.K.K, to whom some Pakistani residents in the UAE paid money to get work visas for their relatives back home.
The police managed to check the visas given by W.K.K and found out that some of those were issued in the name of other people while some others were forged.
The suspect, W.K.K, was arrested and he admitted to the police that he received money from the victims who wanted to help their relatives in Pakistan to find job in the UAE. During interrogation, he informed the police about his accomplices including T.A.Z, K.W, T.A and K.K who were arrested later and confessed about their participation in the scam.
The Sharjah Police, in coordination with the Dubai Police, arrested M.A, who admitted that he received the money and copy of passports from the first suspect (W.K.K) to issue the visas for the workers. He and another Pakistani identified as M.S allegedly forged the visas in a studio in Dubai.
The case has been referred to public prosecution. Col. Mohammed Al Obad, Director of police stations in the eastern region, warned the public against falling prey to such scams.
