A video of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, rescuing an oryx at a sanctuary has gone viral on social media.
In the minute-long clip posted on Instagram and Twitter, Sheikh Hamdan spots an oryx with a mesh of synthetic strings, resembling a net, tangled around its head and horns, after which he and his team chase the animal around in a four-wheel drive with a tranquiliser to sedate and untangle the animal.
After a brief chase, the Crown Prince successfully sedates it with a tranquiliser shot.
One of the team members cuts off the strings wrapped around the animal's head while he and his team hold it still.
Towards the end of the clip, the young royal cools down the agitated oryx with splashes of water as it gallops back to its herd taking respite from the summer heat under the shade of trees.
Captioned 'All good to go for this Oryx! Mission accomplished,' the video has so far garnered more than 300,000 views with hundreds of comments praising Sheikh Hamdan for his noble gesture.
