The United Arab Emirates welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire between the Indian and Pakistani armies across the disputed borders in Kashmir.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed that the UAE has close historical ties with both the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
It further praised the efforts made by both countries to come to this agreement, stressing that this is an important step towards achieving security, stability and prosperity in the region.
The ministry emphasised the importance of observing a permanent ceasefire between the two countries in Kashmir for the benefit of both sides.
