The Ministry of Health and Prevention has issued a warning against the use of six fake pharmaceutical products that contain undisclosed substances which may lead to an acute reduction in blood pressure and pose extreme danger to heart and diabetes patients, as well as those suffering from high fat, particularly those who consume medications containing nitrate.
The ministry issued six circulars in this regard against several products, used as food supplements and sexual tonics for men, following warnings from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The first product, Tornado, contains nortadalafil substance, according to tests undertaken by the US Food and Drug Administration, wam reported on Tuesday.
The second product, Xrect, contains two undisclosed substances tadalafil and descarbonsildenafil, while Z Daily contains homosildenafil. Similarly, Big N Hard contains tadalafil, and Cummor and Monkey Business contain Ndesmethyl tadalafil could also lead to similar negative effects on the above-mentioned group of patients at risk.
The ministry also issued a circular warning against the usage of a medical device to stabilise the head and spine after injuries or surgeries. This is due to the fact that emergency paramedics could fail to remove the device, in case a cardiopulmonary resuscitation is needed, which could have serious implications.
Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention for Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector, said the issued circulars followed an effective communication with FDA, which called for immediate withdrawal of these fake medical products.
