The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has started a two-month yearly summer training programme for 50 high school and university students from all across the UAE. The training is being held at ERC headquarters and branches.
The programme seeks to raise the efficiency of UAE national students and initiate their role in the work field, helping them make good use of their free time. There are various office training programmes to increase their practical skills and their experiences, by allowing them to practice in different departments of the association as well as introducing them to voluntary humanitarian work carried out by the ERC.
Ahmed Ibrahim Tunaiji, Director of Human Resources Management, said, on behalf of the ERC, that both the administration and the training and development departments have prepared programmes for the summer of 2015 and have placed the participants in all departments at the ERC headquarters.
He also said that the programme comes within the framework of the association's policy to increase the role of nationals in the country within the operational plan for the management of human resources in the field of training. The move also seeks to increase the interest of the management to help the students of high schools and universities to achieve more practical experience. This will provide them with knowledge and office management skills throughout their learning journey and hopefully raise their education and work level. It will prepare them to graduate and enter the work field with high potential and confidence.
Tunaiji added that the summer training programmes are suitable for all Emirati university and high schools students, regardless of their different academic levels. He said that it is important for them to familiarise themselves with the nature of charity work and the mission of the ERC in providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable groups, locally, regionally and to those affected by disasters and conflicts at an international level, helping to preserve human dignity. - Wam
