Water taxis for tourists to make a big splash

In a bid to boost tourism along the city's waterfront, four water taxi tourist trips to and from Jumeirah Open Beach Station have been launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Each trip will last one and a half hours and will cost Dh150 per passenger.

The General Department of Traffic of the Dubai Police has arrested some groups of teenagers for allegedly causing chaos on motorcycles and quad bikes in Al Mamzar and Al Qusais areas in the night since the start of Ramadan. One group even tried to attack some policemen with a knife.

Two new sectors under Mawaqif

Two new sectors in the busy Central Market area will come under Mawaqif parking management on August 12, the Department of Transport (DoT) has announced. Residential parking permits for the two sectors will be provided free of charge for the next six months.
