The spirit of tolerance soared as the Galadari Brothers group hosted different companies to celebrate the UAE's 48th National Day recently. With the UAE marking 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, the conglomerate organised a celebration at the Khaleej Times premises that paid tribute to the country's legendary hospitality and diversity.
The stage was set with all things Emirati. From music to henna, and cuisine to coffee, the atmosphere oozed with Emirati flavour. The highlight of the day was a community kitchen that served traditional Arabic food to over 1,500 people.
The festivities began with Ayala, a UAE folk dance. Attendees joined in as the troupe performed the traditional dance. The Galadari Brothers management, staff and their guests enjoyed the rest of the day clicking mementos at the photo booth and trying out henna designs.
At the ceremony, Suhail Galadari, Director of Galadari Brothers, said: "As we celebrate the 48th UAE National Day, we also celebrate togetherness and tolerance. Keeping with the Year of Tolerance message, we want to spread the message of love and appreciation to all brothers and sisters working in the UAE for its better future."
Mohammed Galadari, Director of Galadari Brothers, said: "Galadari Brothers and Khaleej Times have always been at the forefront of keeping up with the vision of the UAE Rulers. We're inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father, to put people first."
Echoing similar sentiments, Mohamed Yahya Kazi, Director and Group CEO of Galadari Brothers, added: "We congratulate the UAE on its 48th National Day. The nation has really transformed itself dynamically in the last 48 years, keeping up with the times. We are really proud of our young but mature country that has led the world with its example of tolerance and unity."
The event witnessed the participation of companies including Al Yousuf Group, Unimix, Al Ghurair Construction and Nico International. Seran Dilshan, HR officer at Unimix, said: "It's really great to be a part of such an occasion because we all are expatriates, living far away from our home countries. The Galadari Brothers hosting such an event and inviting us to be a part of it makes us feel like one family."
Galadari Trucks and Heavy Equipment's workshop manager Robert Allison said this was the first time he was marking the national day. "It's really a great feeling to spend such a big day with my colleagues."
In the evening, the festivities spread to Sonapur, where dinner was served to 600 workers.
